Telstra (ASX: TLS) has been awarded a $72 million network services contract from Medibank Private.
The five-year contract will fund an infrastructure-enabling project delivered via Telstra's NextG networks.
One goal of the project is to use converged voice and contact centre technologies to improve contact-centre and front-office call response times.
Medibank Private is undergoing an overhaul of its ICT infrastructure, and this represents completion of the first step of the organisation's IT road map.
Telstra currently manages some 12,000 contact centre seats for various companies, and a further 12,000 of its own.
