Tandberg Data has announced it Viking FS-800U 2U NAS appliance that supports up to eight hard disks using SAS 3Gbps or SATA II connectivity.
The system is powered by Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 or Microsoft Windows Unified Storage Server 2003, and is optimized for storage-specific management and applications.
The Viking FS-800U NAS is configured within the Windows environment and the WSS 2003 R2 comes with an unlimited number of client access licenses.
All popular file-sharing protocols, like CIFS/SMB, NFS, AppleTalk, DFS, HTTP&FTP and Storage Report Manager, are supported.
The Viking FS-800U NAS is available immediately in Australia and New Zealand. It ships with a standard three-year warranty including a three year advanced replacement service for components.
Warranty extensions and on-site services are available as options and the system is priced from $5739.
