Antivirus and Internet security software vendor ESET will now allow end-users to pay as they go with its first foray into software as a service.
Personal and business subscribers to ESET's NOD32 Antivirus and Smart Security products can pay monthly and there are no contracts required.
Once the software is downloaded, end-users can access the application over the Internet and are only required to activate the software once for the life of the service, with no need for annual license renewals.
Mike Swart, Director of ESET Australia’s SaaS division said SaaS is an attractive option for businesses and households with tight IT budgets.”
“SaaS rather than as annual licensed products is a cost effective solution for businesses and consumer groups needing to maintain a high level of security and threat protection at an affordable price,” Swart said.
For individual users ESET NOD32 Antivirus is $5.99 per month and Smart Security is only $10.99 per month.
