Vodafone Australia today has listed the highly anticipated Google-based smartphone, the HTC Magic, on its Web site, confirming its exclusive deal on the phone. Customers can now register their interest in the Android-powered HTC Magic on Vodafone's Web site. Vodafone will offer the phone in both black and white and with over-the-air software installation ability.
Vodafone's head of consumer markets, Edward Geoff, said the company is thrilled to be launching an exclusive version of the HTC Magic.
“We know the HTC Magic has left people abroad spellbound by its immense capabilities and first-class user experience," Geoff said.
The announcement follows an earlier decision to launch the phone in Europe.
"We’re certain the new HTC phone will weave its magic when it launches here in Australia.”
Vodafone is yet to confirm pricing details.
Another carrier, 3 mobile, has announced it will also offer the HTC Magic in its stores from mid-June.
Noel Hamill, director of sales, marketing and products at 3 said: “We are aware that there is a lot of consumer anticipation and excitement for the arrival of the HTC Magic and want to give customers the opportunity to register their interest so they can be among the first to use it on 3."
