PayPal has announced a developer competition at Web Directions South in Sydney, and up for grabs is a trip to the PayPal conference in San Francisco next month.
The prize will go to the developer who comes up with the most creative idea on how to use one of PayPal's new APIs.
The widely used payment provider’s new APIs allow developers to embed its payment system into their applications and platforms.
In July, PayPal formally announced its Adaptive Payments System, in beta, and opened its online payments system to third-party developers.
On November 3-4, PayPal will hold PayPal Innovate X, its first developer conference in the US, where it will launch the open payment platform PayPal X.
To be in the running for the prize, developers will need to complete a special registration form at PayPal's booth during Web Directions South, and will then have until October 15 to submit their ideas.
The winner will be notified on the October 19.
Developers interested in getting involved can check out PayPal’s developer site x.com.
