Droid multitouch enhanced by add-on

Milestone's downloadable ROM improves the smartphone's multitouch functions ahead of Google

The Motorola Droid might be partially responsible for a huge jump in consumer awareness and popularity of the Android operating system, but there is still one thing the Droid does -- but doesn't do very well: support multitouch.

Sure, you can download Dolphin Browser and start pinching the screen to zoom in like you can on an iPhone, but a better solution appears just around the corner.

A mutlitouch ROM based on the European Milestone (which supports multitouch) is available on a post on AllDroid.org.

The alpha release might brick your phone and doesn't support GPS, but if you follow the instructions listed on the forum you will be able to enjoy multitouch goodness in Droid native applications.
