CA has announced its SiteMinder and SOA Security Manager products are now available for the open source JBoss middleware platform.
SiteMinder and SOA Security Manager are part of CA's secure Web business enablement portfolio and are designed to reduce IT security risks associated with deploying Web-based applications and Web services.
Jeff Broberg, senior director of CA’s security and compliance business unit, said the company recognises the demand for advanced Web security on open source infrastructures.
SiteMinder provides Web single sign-on, authentication management, policy-based authorisation and identity federation, whereas SOA Security Manager uses policies linked to user identities to provide XML threat prevention, authentication, authorisation, federation, session management and security auditing.
JBoss is an open source Java application server and middleware platform supported by Red Hat.
Director of middleware product management at Red Hat, Stephen Hess, said open source middleware adoption is growing and more organisations are deploying their mission-critical applications on JBoss.
"The need for enterprise-class security for Web applications and Web services grows in parallel with the rise in deployments, which is why we are pleased that CA is extending its security platforms for Web access management," Hess said.
