MyNetFone announces new VoIP offering

Australian VoIP and IP service provider, MyNetFone (ASX:MNF), has announced its new offering of a VoIP only phone system in an effort to better service its small business users and cement its position in the SME market.

The ASX-listed company has penned a deal with Panasonic to market the VoIP only Panasonic KX-TGP500 range of phone systems, in conjunction with the release of its small office cap plans.

In a statement to the ASX the company said it was pitching the new offering to small and medium businesses looking to cut costs associated with a traditional PBX or additional phone lines.

MyNetFone technical director, Rene Sugo, claimed the product would makes the deployment and expansion of an SIP-based phone system simple.

“The reduced hardware costs and simplicity of routing calls over an Internet connection can add up to significant savings on monthly telephone bills,” Sugo said.

The Panasonic KX-TGP500 is an entry type digital enhanced cordless telecommunications (DECT) consisting of a location free base unit and a cordless handset, while the Panasonic KX-TGP550 is a base unit with a corded and cordless handset. Each unit can register up to six cordless handsets with up to three lines.

As reported by Computerworld Australia, the company had a solid financial year, posting net profits of $1.97 million and revenues of $12.1 million, a result attributed to organic growth in its VoIP, broadband and internet offerings.
