Droid X getting Froyo this Wednesday

A PDF posted over on Verizon's support website has revealed that Android 2.2 is coming to the Droid X this Wednesday.

It's Froyo time! Well, almost. Verizon has announced that the Droid X will finally be getting the Android 2.2 update this coming Wednesday, 22nd September.

A rumor surfaced a few days ago that suggested that the long-awaited update was but a few days away, but a PDF found over on Verizon's support pages confirms the forthcoming Froyo update for Droid X.

The Android update is reported to come in at a download size of 67.6MB, and it will actually include version 2.3.15 of Google's mobile operating system. Froyo is version 2.2 of the Android OS, so we're not entirely sure why the PDF references version 2.3.15, but we assume it's a special Droid X-specific build of Froyo. For those who don't know the latest update will bring improved application switching, Flash support, enhanced browser performance and more.
