MyNetFone launches mobile VoIP

Plans available at a flat fee, or on a per-call basis with no monthly charge

VoIP and IP service provider MyNetFone (ASX:MNF) is rolling out mobile VoIP services for the iPhone, Android and Symbian operating systems.

The company has launched an iPhone app, and is close to releasing applications for the other two platforms, MyNetFone said in a statement.

The iPhone version is available free from the Apple app store, but requires a subscription to a MyNetFone VoIP account.

Plans are available at a flat fee, or on a per-call basis with no monthly charge. Calls may be made for 10 cents untimed to all Australian landlines, and international calls are priced starting at 1.9 cents per minute.

MyNetFone technical director Rene Sugo said the company was well-placed to benefit from the upswing in 3G take-up in Australia. “We anticipate a high take-up rate of this app,” Sugo said.

The company's apps will allow for recording of conversations, and will be integrated into phones' existing contact lists.

MyNetFone recently added line number porting to its VoIP services.
