ICT services provider, Fujitsu, is the latest vendor to jump on the Cloud bandwagon with a portfolio unveiled on the Gold Coast this week.
The public and private Cloud offerings will be based in the vendor's tier three data centres in Australia and will be expanded this year to include software as a service (SaaS) suite including messaging, customer relationship management (CRM) and unified technologies.
Fujitsu ANZ solutions and Cloud services group executive director, Cameron McNaught, said in a statement that the trusted Cloud offering are designed to combine the scale of public platforms and the customisation of private networks.
Customers gain access to a self-service portal that allows them to adjust services, change capacity and usage, and manage billing, in real time.
“The ability to drag and drop storage and server configurations into your Cloud environment, in real time, is where IT productivity has taken a dramatic leap forward,” said McNaught.
The Cloud portfolio is designed to compliment the vendor’s Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering which has Australian customers including automotive manufacturer Toyota Australia and ANZ drinks producer Frucor.
In addition, Fujitsu has ramped up data centre construction in the past three years, marking out key locations for facilities in Perth and Melbourne following the success of its centre in Homebush, Sydney in 2008.
