CSIRO staff to strike from Tuesday

CSIRO spokesman Huw Morgan said the strike action was disappointing.

"But hopefully there will be a resolution of the outstanding matters quickly and we invite the Staff Association to rejoin negotiations," he told AAP.

He defended the contract conditions being offered by the CSIRO, which include consecutive pay rises of 3.25, 3.5 and 3.75 per cent per annum.

Negotiations have been continuing for about six months, he said.
