Sony Ericsson's Xperia Ray will launch exclusively on Vodafone in Australia. The Xperia Ray, which will be launched on 28 September, runs version 2.3 ('Gingerbread') of the Android operating system.
The diminutive handset is equipped with a 3.3-inch capacitive touchscreen (with a resolution of 854x480 pixels) and weighs just 100 grams. The Xperia Ray's body measures 111x53x9.4mm.
The phone is equipped with a 'Reality Display' and Sony's Mobile BRAVIA engine; these technologies were also used on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, which had an exceptional display.
Other features of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray include an 8.1-megapixel rear camera (which uses an Exmor R CMOS sensor), a front-facing camera for video calls, A2DP Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, aGPS and a microSD card slot (the phone itself only includes 300MB of internal storage). Preloaded software includes the Sony Ericsson's Timescape app, which provides unified access to communications features and social networking.
