Macquarie University to host gaming conference

Game classification, augmented reality, mobile devices hot topics up for discussion

Macquarie University will host a three day video games event next month, aimed at debating game theory and exploring contemporary research in the area.

GAME will be held at the university’s North Ryde campus, with content classification, the effect of video games on society and augmented reality some of the topics that will be discussed.

Keynote speakers at the Theorycraft part of the conference will include Espen Aarseth from IT University of Copenhagen and Dr Ian Bogost from Georgia Institute of Technology.

The future of gaming will also be discussed at Theorycraft, with the role of augmented reality, social media and mobile devices on the agenda. GAME will also host a range of students' design projects. The conference will run from 27 to 29 October.
