NSW govt urges ICT companies to register for collaborative program

Applications opened on 17 November 2011 and close on 29 February 2012

The NSW government has urged ICT companies to register for a pitching and networking event to help form consortiums for its collaborative solutions program.

The Collaborative Solutions Mobile Government program, a $1 million project focused on the development of mobile and wireless technologies to improve government services, will support innovative solutions with market appeal.

The pitching and networking event will be held on Thursday 8 December at the NSW Trade and Investment Centre, Martin Place, Sydney.

“There are 24 pitching spots available at the networking and pitching event, with priority to be given to businesses with great innovative mobile technology ideas and a mix of industry presentations, from startups to multinationals and research bodies,” said Andrew Stoner, NSW deputy premier and minister for trade and investment, regional infrastructure and services.

“While it is not necessary to attend the networking and pitching event to apply for mobile government grants, the event is designed to assist the process so we strongly encourage proposed applicants to register.”

Stoner also said the solutions will be piloted within the NSW Department of Trade & Investment.

A briefing on the program was held last week, with an attendance of 150 industry representatives.

Grant applications opened last week and will close at noon on 29 February 2012. Short-listed applicants will be notified in March 2012 to pitch their presentation, with recipients to be announced in April 2012.

Those encouraged to apply for grants include mobile application developers, technology providers, service providers, device manufacturers and research organisations.
