Launched in Australia on Facebook, this app allows small businesses to install and run an online e-commerce store on Facebook, giving users the option to tap into the online shopping market without having to invest in setting up a website.

Designed to help small businesses connect and engage with their customers online, customers can like, share and comment on products, receive special offers and fan-only discounts and get the latest information on new products on Facebook.

This app can be used to tap into the Facebook commerce, or f-commerce, world as a recent CMB Data report revealed 50 per cent of Facebook followers are likely to buy a product after following that product brand.

Available on iPhone and iPod touch, this app offers a BBC video on demand (VOD) subscription service, allowing subscribers to stream and download TV shows from the BBC archive.

The service is available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, The Republic of Ireland, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

In a Christmas offer, the BBC will allow non-subscribers to downloaded the app for free from the App Store and watch a free Christmas themed episode from shows such as Only Fools and Horses, Absolutely Fabulous, The Nativity and The Naked Chef – The Christmas Party every day until midnight Christmas/Boxing day.

Named after a Zulu greeting, ‘what are you doing?’ travel app is what CEO of Wenzani has called a “personalised guide on the go.”

Targeted towards travellers, the app combines travel recommendations from a variety of expert sources, not only from Lonely Planet but also from BBC Travel, DK Eyewitness, Frommer’s Travel, Hearst, Time Out and social media networks. The app can also be used by locals who want to search for information on the city or area they live in such as local restaurants, nightlife, cultural events, etc.

The app is available for free on iPhone and iPod touch and is also available in public beta from the App Store. Some 10,000 downloads will be available as part of the public beta, with further updates planned for 2012.
