The Commonwealth Bank today launch Commbank Kaching: A mobile commerce app for the iPhone that includes peer-to-peer transaction support and is Near Field Communications (NFC) enabled.
The bank originally unveiled the app in late October.
In conjunction with an 'iCarte' case, iPhone owners can use the free app to make contactless payments using Near Field Communications (NFC) and MasterCard PayPass terminals. None of the current iPhone models, including the recently launched iPhone 4S, including an inbuilt NFC chip.
Without the case the app can still be used for mobile transactions, but not contactless payments.
The app can also be used for peer-to-peer payments, including through a user's Facebook account, mobile phone number or email address. In addition, the app supports most of the standard transactions offered by the bank's online Netbank platform.
CBA is offering a "100% Security Guarantee" with the app, which "covers customers for any fraudulent transactions, resulting in the customer being refunded in full".
An Android version of the app is currently under development.
Commbank Kaching can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store.

There is an issue with registering once you have downloaded the app.
Once you login using your Netbank account details, it requires a NetCode which is sent to your mobile number. Problem is, if you are using your iPhone as your mobile device, it require you to click out of the app and into your text messages to view the code. However, once you go back to the app, it has reset to the login page and you then have to go through the login in process and requests you to send another NetCode, making the previous one invalid...
I assume this will be happening to a lot of users... Better sort it out quick guys!

you can set your phone to display messages on the screen whenever they come in. With this setting toggles on the NetCode appears while the app is running. Hope that helps.
