Macquarie Telecom adds fourth data centre to AGIMO panel

Macquarie Telecom’s (ASX: MAQ) new Intellicentre 4 (IC4) data centre has been added to the data centre facilities panel established by the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO).

As a panellist, the company provides facilities to all government agencies under the Financial Management and Accountability Act (FMA Act) alongside other members such as Global Switch.

In total, Macquarie Telecom has four data centres numbered from IC1 to IC4 approved for the panel.

IC4 will be located in Fairbairn, ACT, with a minimum of four megawatts (MW) and 2000 square metres of data halls. There are also plans to develop an IC3 stage two facility at North Ryde, NSW this year.

Macquarie Telecom managing director for hosting, Aidan Tudehope, said in a statement that the addition of IC4 would allow it to serve the growing demand for reliable and secure onshore data centre capacity.

The company is seeking anchor tenants for IC3 and IC4, as well as additional tenants for its $60 million IC2 data centre in North Ryde.
