LG could be the next Nexus smartphone manufacturer, after leaked images have been published online showing what could be Google's latest Nexus device.
The leaked images show what appears to be a prototype LG Android phone with the codename Mako. The model number appears to be E960, which suggests the device could be a variant of the LG Optimus G.
An XDA-Developers forum member first posted photos of the device, which looks like an LG phone running Google's stock Jelly Bean software. Like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus before it, the phone has on-screen navigation buttons and is running Android 4.1.2 software with the name "Full JellyBean on Mako".
Further images have since been published on Russian forum baraholka.onliner.by, showing the phone with a glitter back cover and a thin, black bezel. The phone appears to look similar in shape to the previous Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
The potential LG Nexus phone is expected to feature a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro procecessor with an Adreno 320 GPU. Google is expected to unveil official details for the new Nexus phone before the end of this month.
