A "particularly sneaky" phishing email is doing the rounds of Telstra customers. The email says that the recipient's online bill is now available and directs the customer to click on an attachment.
The phishing email uses the new Telstra branding in the email, a Telstra representative wrote on the Whirlpool discussion forum.
Telstra has advised customers to be wary of emails sent from unknown addresses that request them to click on links and requesting personal details; the telco never requests passwords, account details or credit card details in emails or by requesting customers to click on links.
Telstra has also created a misuse of service page for customers to report scam emails.
