The Queensland Department of Education, Training and Employment has extended a Unisys contract for IT support services for another two years.
The renewed contract is worth around $29.4 million and extends a 15-year relationship with the two organisations in Queensland. Unisys will continue to provide IT support services to all TAFE colleges in Queensland, which includes 82 campuses and 13 Queensland institutes and the Australian Agricultural Colleges.
Support services encompass 500 servers and 21,000 desktop computers, and involves responding to around 74,000 support calls a year.
Unisys has previously been responsible for the organisation’s migration to Windows 7 and implementing a single active directory to improve efficiency in the TAFE environment.
“Our 15-year relationship with TAFE Queensland is a testament to the quality of our service delivery and the strength of our client relationship,” Scott Whyman, vice-president and general manager, Global Managed Services Asia Pacific for Unisys, said in a statement.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue this work for TAFE Queensland.”
