News junkies now have access to Sky News national, business and weather channels on the Foxtel Go iPhone and iPad app.
Users will be able to view political news conferences, stock market share prices, trading day analysis, weather forecasts and severe weather warnings.
In addition, the 2013 federal election coverage will be streamed live on Sky News national via the app. Subscribers can also tune into the federal budget announcement in May this year.
The addition of Sky News comes two days after Fox Sports channels 1, 2 and 3 were added to the Go app.
The app can be downloaded from the Apple marketplace for free by Foxtel customers. In order for subscribers to use the Go app, the iPhone or iPad must be running operating system version 5. A Foxtel residential cable or satellite subscription with a satellite top unit and a Foxtel online account linked to a subscription is also required.
Foxtel's executive director of product, Jim Rudder, said in the future the app will be available on Android, Macintosh and PCs.
“In March 2013 Foxtel Go will be ready to offer more than 50 live channels plus hundreds of TV and movie titles on catch up that can be streamed over a 4G, 3G or Wi-Fi network,” he said in a statement.
