Let's face it: The state of iPhone and iPad rumors is parlous, petty and paltry, where bad writing and punditry drives out the good.
As the New Year approached, iPad 3 rumors gushed like cheap bubbly, and the iOSsphere guzzled.
The holiday season brought a stuffed stocking of iPhone 5 rumors to the iOSsphere, closing out 2011 with a whimper of joyful speculation.
The iOSsphere was roiled and roused this week by the stunning news that the iPhone 5 will drive higher Apple sales. Unless Apple releases the iPhone 4S-S instead.

Big companies, even those with demanding security needs, are nonetheless allowing employees to use personally owned smartphones and tablets for work, according to a new survey. And increasingly, it is employees and not the companies that are bearing the costs -- for the devices, and cellular data plans.

New generation tablets are being adopted en masse by enterprises, despite the lack of any support infrastructure from the manufacturers. Many enterprise users, and IT groups, are making determined efforts to secure and manage tablets with whatever tools are available.

For William Tway, the really important number for the Apple iPad is 1.35. That's how much the 3G model weighs. And it weighs about 28.67 pounds less than the sample case of padlocks, not to mention the thick paper catalogs, he used to lug around as head of East Coast sales for the Wilson Bohannan Padlock Company.

More details are emerging that reveal the Carrier IQ smartphone application does exactly what the vendor says it does. These new findings directly contradict the nearly universal allegations of keylogging, spying, and tracking, all based on the uncritical acceptance of the original analysis by Trevor Eckhart.
