Accenture's Consulting workforce is involved in business consulting, process design work and the application of technologies to business. Working as a consultant with Accenture, you will build core business, technology and industry expertise helping to deliver world-class business and technology solutions that enable clients to become high performance businesses. Consultants must be professionals who have an interest in how business processes work and interact. In addition, consultants need to apply their skills in project and programme management while exhibiting leadership in process re-engineering and implementation of process, technology, and organisational change. Finally, consultants also need to have a working knowledge of the industry and/or the functional areas they serve.

The Consulting workforce is made up of three groups: Management Consulting, Systems Integration Consulting and Technology Consulting. This consulting group structure provides outstanding opportunities to develop highly specialised skills that will help you advance your career.

Technology Consulting professionals are responsible for delivering technology innovation and providing the backbone of our systems integration business.

Network & Communications professionals develop and deliver solutions that involve the design, implementation, operations and management of data and voice network infrastructure -- for enterprises or service providers -- upon which business applications can be built.

Key responsibilities may include:

- Planning and managing diagnosis and assessment activities and defining high-level programme/action plans
- Identifying opportunities to drive more value from an organisation's IT strategy through technology strategies in targeted areas, including technology infrastructure (overall as well as security, networks, and desktop) and technology architecture (overall as well as mobility, portals, and information management)
- Ensuring technology requirements will allow modeling and address performance and security
- Ensuring high level design supports a robust technology solution, taking into account the user requirements, technical requirements, etc. (e.g., solution architecture)
- Planning and managing technology design activities
- Being recognised as an expert on one or more technology vendors/products/areas
- Leading the technology evaluation and selection effort
- Planning and managing capacity planning activities
- Planning and managing programme-wide technology build, test and deployment activities
- Being an expert in troubleshooting and performance tuning one or more technology products

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Ability to meet travel requirements, when applicable.
- Cisco experience and CCIE qualification.
- Experience or understanding of smart metering functions is desirable.

- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Desire to work in an information systems environment
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
