Project Manager - Major Software Development Project - MYOB

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic and hands-on project manager to work on a widely recognised product, being redeveloped using the latest Microsoft technologies (including .Net 3.5, SQL Server 2008, Windows 7).

Responsibilities:

• Elicit the work breakdown ensuring accurate estimation and an achievable project plan.
  
• Allocate and coordinate team activities on a daily basis ensuring they are carried out within the planned timeframe to meet delivery deadlines.
  
• Report development progress to Program Manager through timely, accurate and transparent reporting.
  
• Actively manage risks and issues Lead and motivate the team to ensure that all work is completed to the relevant standards and procedures.

Essential Skills:

• Tertiary qualification in related discipline.
  
• A strong team player with at least 5 years Project Management experience and 10 years in the software development industry.
  
• A proven track record of successfully managing software development projects.
  
• Experience managing cross functional teams  with respect to motivation, coaching, mentoring and performance management.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to produce and present project plans, and business related documentation.
  
• Experience scheduling and tracking projects.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience managing Agile development projects (SCRUM, FDD or LEAN).
  
• Project Management Certification in PMI or similar.
