Shhh... ACMA preps URL 'block' page

In a recent discussion with Senator Conroy’s media advisors, I was given the privilege of being politely declined any more information about the composition of the proposed URL 'block' page or what options people have to check if their Web site is caught up in the filter.

How IPv6 is like the US financial crisis

Not long ago, the powers-that-be detected an impending crisis. To resolve it, they rushed into action crafting a proposal that represented an unprecedented upheaval of existing infrastructure. On the grounds that "something needed to be done" to avert the crisis, they brushed aside objections that the upheaval was too convulsive and might nonetheless fail to address the underlying issues that had created the crisis in the first place.

Zoho adds Google Docs-like file management

Why is Yahoo boosting domain fees by 30%?

Like many people, I "own" a few personal domains for my blogs and a few old business ideas that never got off the ground. And, like many people, they have been parked at Yahoo Small Business, partially because I already had a Yahoo account when I registered them a few years ago, and partially because I was lured by the US$1.99/year offers for new domains that they had running at the time. The rate increased to $9.95 after the first year, but I was OK with that. I was able to reserve the domains and set up redirects to my blogs, and have the option of building real sites if I ever get too frustrated with Google's Blogger service.
