Prime Minister Julia Gillard flicks the switch at a ceremony at the Brunswick Town Hall
An NBN construction Worker visits a member of the community in Brunswick.
The suburb is the third mainland test site to connect to the fibre optic-enabled NBN. The network covers about 2,689 premises in the suburb and, according to NBN Co, 1,405 of these premises have consented to the lead-in to the fibre network, representing a 52 per cent take-up rate.
To date fourteen customers have connected as part of the trial in Brunswick, with more service activations in the queue.
