Android 4.2: A sweeter Jelly Bean
Android users have a new treat on the way this holiday season. Google's Android 4.2 release debuted last week with the launch of the Nexus 4 smartphone and Nexus 10 tablet. The software is now in the midst of rolling out to other Nexus devices, such as the Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus, and will reach more phones and tablets as their manufacturers make it available. (No word yet from any non-Nexus manufacturers on when that could happen.)
The second release to carry the "Jelly Bean" moniker, Android 4.2 is a relatively minor update to version 4.1, but the upgrade packs several significant new features along with plenty of subtle polish. Here's a tour of the most noteworthy changes.
