DHS: Gas pipeline industry under significant ongoing cyberattack
SAVANNAH, Ga. -- There is now an ongoing and massive cyberattack targeting the American gas-pipeline industry, aimed at giving the attacker a way to gather sensitive information by compromising business systems and possibly even subverting industrial control systems. The Department of Homeland Security's investigative division, called the ICS-CERT, says it's taking the somewhat unusual step of issuing an alert and speaking publicly about it to heighten awareness of a dangerous situation.

FBI: Cyberattacks could shove aside terrorism as No. 1 threat to US
The leaders of the Department of Defense and the Federal Bureau of Investigation this week separately expressed concern over the increasing numbers of cyberattacks, with FBI Director Robert Mueller (pictured, right) saying that while terrorism remains the FBI's top priority, "in the not too distant future, we anticipate that the cyberthreat will pose the No. 1 threat to our country."

FBI, DHS say no evidence of a hack in an Illinois water district pump failure
The FBI and Department of Homeland Security say they can't find evidence to confirm any of the story that an Illinois water authority's SCADA network was hacked and that it resulted in burning out a pump in the system.
