The Lenovo ThinkPad T420 is a 14-inch, business-focussed notebook. It has many of the features you would expect from a ThinkPad laptop, including a TrackPoint-style device (as well as a regular touchpad), a great keyboard, a keyboard light, and a non-glossy screen.

Acer has launched a notebook that is part of the 'Ultrabook' class of laptops unveiled by Intel at the May/June Computex trade show in Taiwan. The Acer Aspire S3 is a 13.3-inch notebook that weighs 1.35kg — about the same weights as the 13-inch model of Apple's ultraportable MacBook Air.

QUESTION: My Windows 7 Home Premium computer has a quad-core processor and 4GB of RAM. I've not found any advantage to using four cores. How can I use the processor more effectively and allocate different processes to the individual cores?

You're more likely to damage a laptop than a desktop PC (no one has ever driven off, forgetting the desktop on top of their car), and once damaged, laptops are harder and more expensive to repair.

It's official: Google plans to debut its Chrome operating system in the fourth quarter of this year, although the company has yet to provide an exact launch date. Sundar Pichai, Google's vice president of product management, made the announcement Wednesday at the Computex trade show in Taipei, according to IDC News.
