Acer has launched a notebook that is part of the 'Ultrabook' class of laptops unveiled by Intel at the May/June Computex trade show in Taiwan. The Acer Aspire S3 is a 13.3-inch notebook that weighs 1.35kg — about the same weights as the 13-inch model of Apple's ultraportable MacBook Air.

Panasonic's Toughbook CF-C1 is a 12.1in laptop equipped a touchscreen. Its most important feature, however, is its semi-rugged design. Lenovo has launched its thinnest ThinkPad laptop. The 13-inch Lenovo ThinkPad X1 notebook is less than 17mm high and weighs less than 1.7kg. All X1 laptops will run Intel's second-generation Core CPUs ('Sandy Bridge'). Models will be offered with Core i3, i5 and i7 processors.
