Peripheral device manufacturer Logitech has announced its first Mac-compatible webcam with autofocus technology and Carl Zeiss optics.
The Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro webcam for Mac can be used for image streaming and videoconferencing.
With a 2-megapixel sensor, the new webcam has VGA-quality video at up to 30 frames per second and when used to capture video to disk it records in 720p high-definition format.
According to Logitech, the QuickCam Vision Pro optimized for Mac OS X and is plug and play out of the box, and no software is required.
General manager and vice president of Logitech's internet communications business unit, Gina Clark, said the new webcam for Mac computers integrates the company's most advanced video technologies to enrich the video-calling experience.
The Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro webcam for Mac will be available in Australia and New Zealand in August for $AU179.95.
