IT training provider Excom Education is offering budding IT workers the chance to experience the industry first-hand by hosting a series of open days during August.
The open day roadshow will begin in Adelaide on Saturday August 9 and travel to Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, Sydney and Auckland during the month.
Excom claims its open day program is "uniquely interactive" and puts IT aspirants into the "driver's seat" of a new career in IT.
The open day also has interactive demonstrations and access to professionals working within the IT sector.
Excom Education's national Express IT program manager, Cassandra Ashworth, said now is a good time to get into IT as the opportunities in the industry are only limited by people's imagination.
Attendees can speak with Excom career advisors and obtain study grants towards the Express IT program.
"The classic image of an IT geek is no longer relevant as the industry offers so much more than just helpdesk [and] call centre work," Ashworth said. "There are opportunities for people to become involved with creating new technologies, working their way up to managerial roles or even starting their own firms."
