Dimension Data implements sustainability schemes

According to the company's recent Carbon Disclosure Project report, it has undertaken a number of schemes to reduce carbon emissions.

Dimension Data has undertaken a number of carbon emission reduction projects, including reducing server consumption in parts of the business by 50 percent.

According to the company's submission to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP6), DiData’s North American business has used server consolidation and virtualisation options to reduce energy consumption by half.

DiData has also tweaked the telephony environment from its European operation, consolidating eight locations and 30 servers into just two sites and six servers.

The company is working with PricewaterhouseCoopers to develop a carbon management plan, to establish future carbon reduction initiatives and goals.
