Pitney Bowes MapInfo Launches New Version of AnySite

AnySite enables organisations to look ten years into the future for enhanced planning

<p>Sydney — 10 October 2008 - Pitney Bowes MapInfo, the leading global provider of location intelligence solutions, has made available a detailed forecast of population, housing and income data for the next ten years with the latest version of its market leading product, AnySite® Australia.</p>
<p>AnySite Australia is a market analysis application that improves the accuracy and efficiency of territory management, service delivery and site selection. With AnySite, organisations are able to quickly and easily analyse and map customer and market research data to find new site locations, grow existing locations or plan for emerging community service demand.</p>
<p>Now, organisations in Australia will be able to access detailed ten-year forecasts of population, housing and income, all packaged together with Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Census data in one easy to use off-the-shelf product. Users will be able to estimate and project in fine detail what demographic changes are expected in the future and assess how that will affect them. The power of AnySite is enhanced as all of the data is available at an ABS Collection District level (average of 220 households), which means more power to drill down to the exact relevant areas desired.</p>
<p>In addition to providing users with a snap shot forecast of the future, AnySite Australia market analysis software also offers extensive data from the Australian ABS 2006 Census Working Population Profiles, as well as the new Socio-Economic Indicators for Areas (SEIFA).</p>

<p>AnySite also includes the availability of high-value proprietary data models, such as Estimates of Consumer Spend Potential, which enhances the analytical capabilities available for users. At the same time, the information included on the amount of potential spending available per person in any conceivable trade area is important data for a wide variety of businesses; ranging from property owners and retailers to local government, financial institutions and marketers. By incorporating this data, AnySite gives users the analytical fidelity required to visualise and map the potential spend in any designated area of any potential market from ice cream sales to household insurance.</p>
<p>The Consumer Spend Potential (CSP) 2007 data is a powerful add-on data pack in this updated version offering estimates of consumer expenditure in over 100 categories. This high-value data is available for all ABS collection districts from the 2006 Census.</p>
<p>For example, the information derived from these new enhancements can help government organisations to be more effective when planning for better service delivery to the community. For example:
A local council could use estimates of spend on childcare to evaluate planned improvements to the existing Childcare Network, or make an assessment prior to appointing family day care providers.
Similarly, State governments could determine incidents of family violence, and use the CSP to assess if there is any correlation with life-style choices, such as higher than average alcohol consumption.
Finally, Federal Government agencies can use CSP to determine areas at risk of problems associated with obesity by analysing patterns of fast food consumption.</p>
<p>In the commercial world, a retailer considering new store locations can evaluate the financial viability of different sites according to a range of criteria; such as population density, drive time catchments and income levels, and then generate colour-coded maps to clearly display their findings.</p>
<p>Among those Australian-based organisations which have deployed AnySite to drive better decision-making are Weight Watchers, Brown-Forman Australia, Queensland Department of Communities and Queensland Department of Education.</p>
<p>Other new features in AnySite include the incorporation of map data updates with the incorporation of new streets, drive time catchment analysis and new addresses for geo-coding.</p>
