Nortel has taken the next major step in its SMB campaign across Australia/New Zealand by launching a new ‘frequent flyer’-style loyalty program for its nForce channel partners.

Called Overdrive, the program seeks to “create an ecosystem for our SMB resellers where everything they do for Nortel – be it sales, solutions training or certification – gets rewarded,” according to Martin Hatcher, Nortel’s SMB sales leader for Australia and New Zealand.

Once signed up to Overdrive, resellers will be able to claim points on every sale, Nortel training course or Nortel certification they earn. The points will be redeemable for ‘real world’ rewards, like appliances, flat-panel TVs, holidays and other promotional offers.

“We want to make a point that loyalty to Nortel means loyalty from Nortel,” says Hatcher. “Overdrive is a continuation of what we started a few weeks ago, when we spoke about cutting back on inactive partners and giving more face time to active partners.”

“In this case, partners that are committed to Nortel by actively participating in our nForce program will get their just rewards every time they interact with us,” adds Hatcher. “We see it as another investment in the continued growth and success of our SMB business.”

According to Troy Paas from Nortel nForce partner Tronic Communications, Overdrive is a vote of confidence from Nortel in his business. “My staff and I put a lot of effort into acquiring the skills we need to properly service our SMB customers, and it says something that Nortel is willing to reward us not only for the sales we make but also the investments we make in them. To my mind this is the most inclusive and comprehensive loyalty program that I’ve seen in the market, certainly for SMB resellers.”

All qualifying partners have been pre-registered for Overdrive, and should contact their local Nortel account managers to confirm and maintain their memberships. Unaffiliated Nortel partners wanting to take advantage of Overdrive should contact Martin Hatcher in the first instance.
