Extreme Networks enhances channel partner program in Australia

 • 26 February, 2009 16:05

SYDNEY, February 26, 2009 – Extreme Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXTR) is enhancing its Channel Partner Program in Australia by offering increased benefits for reseller partners that include deepened investment supporting their growth, market development, and rewards for ongoing loyalty.

Extreme Networks offers its channel partners an award-winning family of Ethernet network solutions and support, helping enterprises solve their toughest challenges related to convergence, scalability, security and mobility. Switches also feature strong Green credentials with proven low power consumption and powerful scripting automation allows devices such as VoIP phones to be switched off and on at predetermined times, or via a trigger event, to maximise power-savings.

Extreme Networks enhanced Channel Partner Program in takes effect immediately, and gives focus to growth of the channel by rewarding business performance and providing enhanced training and certification.

“Extending our Channel Partner Program enhancements rewards our committed partners through increased investment and meaningful new incentives,” said Simon Barnard, Regional Director Australia and New Zealand for Extreme Networks. “Extreme Networks is committed to maximising our growth opportunities and we are adding resources and incentives that further our strong partner focus.”

Extreme Networks Channel Partner Program has been upgraded to deliver a new partner tier, the ‘Diamond’ level, providing existing ‘high tier’ partners with the opportunity to achieve elite status that carries meaningful new benefits. These benefits include market development funds (MDF), loyalty rebates and rewards for lead generation. These benefits will be further extended to all channel partner program levels, providing proportional rewards to all participating partners.

Extreme Networks will also provide incentives to partners who demonstrate vertical success in the areas of education, health care and government, and will reward partners for their completion of high revenue, unassisted deals.

Channel Program Enhancements:

• New Diamond Elite partner level provides heightened rewards and incentives for resellers demonstrating volume and commitment.
• Uniform MDF program reaches all registered channel partners based on the program level and revenue achieved.
• A new Loyalty Rebate program for partners providing additional incentives to partners that achieve the required revenue, certification, and training credits.

Extreme seeks new partners

Extreme Networks is actively seeking new channels partners in Australia and New Zealand to provide broader & deeper coverage. In particular, the company is seeking systems integrators with strengths in the health, education, hospitality and government markets where it has a lot of success globally.

He believes the economic downturn is making Extreme Networks more attractive to channels partners, as the company claims to be the price-performance leader for Ethernet switching. Barnard says Extreme Networks is able to offer TCO – total cost of ownership – savings of typically 20-50 per cent over five years.

CAPEX costs are typically 10-30 per cent lower than the market leader, while port-pricing is very attractive, especially for GE and 10GE. Stackability allows customers to mix-and-match interfaces of fibre/copper from 10/100 to 10GE in the same stack, while a single operating system across all platforms reduces cost and saves on staff numbers.

OPEX advantages include competitive support packages and pricing, plus local stocking and RMA support. Scripting automation enables power-saving and productivity gains, while low power consumption minimises running costs.

“Other channels benefits include reduced conflict between partners as we will have only a small number of these, even after the current expansion,” said Simon Barnard. “Also we do not compete directly with our partners as we do not sell directly to end users. Finally we strive to ensure that Extreme Networks is easy to do business with: we are responsive and offer RFP boilerplates to make life easier for partners.”
