TechEd kicks off on the Gold Coast

Microsoft's gives out Windows 7 mini notebooks for the world’s largest simultaneous test-lab

Microsoft has kicked off its annual IT professional meet and sell-out event, Tech.Ed, on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

Microsoft has given out more than 2400 HP Mini 2140 notebooks, each running Windows 7, to attendees for a work-out of the operating system as part of ‘the world’s largest’ simultaneous test-lab environment.

Certification will be the focus of this year’s event. More than 300 attendees are expected to gain qualifications.

Training sessions and practice tests will be provided by Microsoft on-site and attendees receive a 40 per cent discount off certification exams.
