Telecom NZ (ASX:TEL) has overhauled its executive team with a number of key appointments and reduced the team from 10 to eight.
The telco has appointed Rod Snodgrass, previously group strategy director, to the newly created role of chief product officer.
Group general counsel, Tristan Gilbertson, and Tina Symmans, director of corporate relations, will fill the two corporate services director roles while maintaining their current positions.
Telecom’s group HR director, Wayne Peat, will be leaving his role with the company and will pass his responsibilities to the general manager of HR, Jan O’Neill. O’Neill will report to the company’s chief executive, Paul Reynolds but will not sit on the executive team.
“I would like to thank Wayne for the huge impact he has made at Telecom since joining in 2009,” Reynolds said in a statement.
“His high-energy style has helped in the delivery of significant changes to the way we work and in particular his leadership during the response to the Christchurch earthquakes was outstanding.”

The telco this week submitted a final binding proposal for its separation and participation in the government's Ultrafast Broadband (UFB) project.
The company said it had prepared the bid after months of negotiations with Crown Fibre Holdings, the company set up to conduct the wholesale-only fibre network rollout.
The company was also fined $12 million by the High Court of New Zealand after the Commerce Commission alleged the telco had breached the Commerce Act through high-speed data pricing.
