In brief: SAP A/NZ appoints newly created senior roles

The company is attempting to ramp up its local customer base in the areas of in-memory and mobility

SAP Australia and New Zealand has created two new roles with the appointment of Doug Gibson as director of high performance analytics, and Andrew Fox as head of mobility and Cloud solutions.

The roles have been created in an attempt to ramp up the company’s local customer base in the areas of in-memory and mobility.

Gibson is returning to SAP after two years at Acxiom, prior to which he was director of the product solutions group with SAP starting in 2007.

Fox has been with SAP for five years and will leave his current position in the “ecosystem team” to take on the new role.

“Across all industries, companies are realising the potential that enterprise mobility applications provide, from improving productivity and operational efficiency to enabling new ways to reach out to customers, suppliers and partners,” Fox said, commenting on his new role.

“Until recently, the use of mobility at the enterprise was limited to wireless mail and basic alerts via SMS. But with unlimited bandwidth and feature-packed devices, mobile applications and devices are now helping companies streamline their operations across all business functions.”

SAP ANZ president and MD, Tim Ebbeck, said in a statement that: “Both Doug and Andrew bring a wealth of experience from their previous roles within SAP and we look forward to using this expertise to help develop and integrate our in-memory and mobility product suite into our existing customer base."
