ME Bank has gone live with the latest version of Cadencie card management software and will use the Java platform to help reduce the time it takes to issue new cards and payment products.
The bank, which is wholly owned by Australia's industry super funds, will use the software to support its EveryDay Transaction Account.
“The deployment of the Cadencie Cards platform to support ME Bank’s new EveryDay Transaction Account (ETA) was achieved successfully by teams from ME Bank and GFG Group,” ME Bank’s general manager IT, Shane Kuret, said.
“Cadencie will allow ME Bank to deploy new products faster to market and enhance the features available in existing products, and deliver on our goal of giving our customers better services and better value banking.”
The upgrade is part of an eight-year partnership between New Zealand-headquartered GFG Group and ME Bank.

GFG Group’s executive director, Dennis Row, said the Cadencie system is based on Java technology and will allow ME Bank to benefit from operational cost savings.
The bank’s EveryDay Transaction Account, a no-frills product for customers, will use Debit MasterCard to support PayPass — a near-field communication (NFC) technology that allows contactless payments with mobile handsets.
The account is the first of many that ME Bank plans to launch in the coming months for both personal and corporate customers.
In May 2010, the bank signed a $4.5 million mobility contract with Telstra to use BlackBerry devices and services running on both the Telstra Next IP and Next G networks.
