Now Red Bull gives your mobile wings

Energy drink company Red Bull has launched its new Red Bull Mobile network in Australia

Energy drink company Red Bull has officially launched its own mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), Red Bull Mobile, powered by the Vodafone 3G network.

Read our comprehensive reviews on Red Bull Mobile's first two smartphones, the HTC ChaCha and the HTC Salsa.

The new telco offers two smartphone handsets at launch: the HTC ChaCha and the HTC Salsa Android phones. Both of these Android smartphones have a dedicated Facebook button, which suggests the new MVNO is targeting the youth sector of the mobile market. Red Bull Mobile will sell handsets online through its Web site, or in EB Games retail stores across Australia.

The telco offers recharge periods from seven to 365 days and recharge amounts from $10 to $365. All up there are five recharges available: $10, $20, $39, $75 and $365, with 7, 15, 30, 60 and 365 day credit expiry, respectively. Every Red Bull Mobile recharge plan includes unlimited local and national calls, mobile calls, SMS and MMS messages to any Australian phone number, along with voicemail deposit and rerieval.

Data quota varies per recharge plan with the best value appearing to be the $39 recharge, which includes 4GB of data. The $365 recharge offers 5GB of data per month, while other included data quotas are 750MB ($10 plan) and 1.5GB ($20 plan).

In an attempt to attract new customers, Red Bull Mobile will also offer the chance to win tickets to Red Bull and partner events, as well as the opportunity to meet Red Bull sponsored athletes.
