Squiz announced plans to expand its cloud hosting service with a new data centre opening in Melbourne this November.
The expansion lets Squiz provide locally hosted cloud services for enterprises in Victoria, the company said. The service includes replication and disaster recovery by tapping Squiz’s Sydney cloud platform and Canberra backup facility, it said.
Squiz began work on the expansion in late June, the company said. The company has 30 staff in Melbourne and more than 150 across the country.
“The cloud business is growing exponentially because of the cost efficiencies and ease of mind it offers an organisation,” Squiz national hosting manager, Jacob Gardiner, said in a statement.
“When faced with making a decision about a new platform, we're seeing 85 to 90 per cent of our clients choosing to go onto the Squiz Cloud. The new data centre will be essential in helping us to meet demand for high quality, secure cloud services over the next few years.”
