Australian broadcaster SBS has promised that this year's telecast of the Eurovision Song Contest, whose past winners include ABBA and Lordi, will offer more social media integration than ever before.
The broadcaster will display commentary from Facebook and Twitter as well as word clouds to "sum up the social chatter", a statement from SBS said.
During Eurovision 2012 the hashtag #SBSEurovision was mentioned 180,000 times on Twitter.
SBS will be "offering a truly social experience for our audience," said the broadcaster's director of online and emerging platforms, Marshall Heald.
During the show, fans will be able to vote on their mobile devices or PCs for their favourite acts.
According to SBS, last year its website for the song contest received record breaking traffic. This year SBS has launched a redesigned, mobile-device-friendly Eurovision website for the event.
