Sony's next Android phone is expected to come with a 20-megapixel camera

Sony's next Android phone is expected to come with a 20-megapixel camera, according to the latest reports.

The phone is codenamed "Honami" and is likely to use the model number C6906.

The upcoming device has been detailed on US Web site Xperia Blog.

The blog has published a number of screenshots of the smartphone and has also revealed details of the device taken from the build.prop.

The key feature appears to be a 20-megapixel camera that can also record 4K video. The latter is likely to record at a resolution of 4000 x 2000 with an aspect ratio of 2:1.

The camera is expected to have a number of advanced settings including a selectable ISO range, image stabilisation and an Exmor R sensor.

The sensor is rumoured to use the same process as as Sony's upcoming RX100 MkII digital camera, which hasn't been released yet.

The Sony Honami is also expected to have manual controls for shutter speed and aperture control, along with a new timeshift burst mode.

The phone will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 800 processor and is likely to have a large 5in screen.
