Deloitte Digital acquires Digicon

Twenty staff members will join new Brisbane office

Deloitte Digital has acquired Brisbane-based Web content management consultancy Digicon and will establish a new office in the city.

Digicon has 20 staff, all of whom will join the consultancy firm.

According to Deloitte Digital lead partner Frank Farrall, it was “very excited” about the transaction due to high demand for digital advisory services from its client base.

“There was 15 per cent growth in 2012. What’s driving that [growth] is today’s consumer is putting massive pressure on business to change their business model,” he said.

“We haven’t had a dedicated team [in Queensland] so part of our announcement is that we are opening a Deloitte Digital studio in Brisbane. The Digicon team will form the core of this office.”

As part of the acquisition, Deloitte will add a Web personalisation functionality called Sitecore to its portfolio. Sitecore has been used to develop the Australian Army and Australian Super websites.

Digicon managing director Lola Weller said that it now has the expertise of Deloitte staff combined with the technical capacity and capability of an established Queensland team.

“We love what we do and are excited about offering our services to the digital market across Australia,” she said in a statement.
