Zurich Australia Goes Live with DSTi’s HiPortfolio/3

Sydney, Australia, 12 August 2003 – DST International (DSTi), the leader in business solutions for the investment management industry, announced today that Zurich Financial Services Australia (ZFSA) has gone live with HiPortfolio/3, DSTi’s future proof funds management system. This is the world’s first fully implemented live HiPortfolio/3 client.

“Zurich Australia aims to be the leader in the market, not a follower. This is demonstrated by ZFSA being the first financial services company globally to go live on the new Windows™ based platform of HiPortfolio/3,” said Mr Peter Delprado, General Manager, Investment Management and Life at Zurich.

“Zurich’s strategy is to grow its business by its total commitment to providing a range of business solutions and services that will ultimately assist intermediaries in managing and growing their businesses. The move to HiPortfolio/3 is an example of that,” Mr Delprado said.

He said the benefits of HiPortfolio/3 to Zurich included better reporting capabilities, automated communication on scheduled tasks, easier customisation of user interface screens, easier access to data and easier menu navigation.

“HiPortfolio/3 retains all the industry leading functionality of HiPortfolio/2 and the benefits that HiPortfolio/3 brings will allow us to support our future business needs with confidence. Simply put, it made commercial sense to make the move,” Mr Delprado added.

Zurich Australia will also be incorporating the additional modules of Reporting Data Mart and HiPortfolio/3 Control Centre into the industry’s most robust and scalable funds management business solutions platform. The Reporting Data Mart module from DSTi provides the ability to extract information at a faster rate, allowing for improved efficiencies in client reporting and a more user-friendly format. The HiPortfolio/3 Control Centre enables supervisors to more easily track functions and utilities with an effective user interface – an integral support component in running a business 24 x 7.

“HiPortfolio/3 will also provide ZFSA with a higher level of compliance functionality going forward. HiPortfolio/3 was subjected to significant testing by ZFSA to ensure the platform met our high unit pricing standards,” Mr Delprado added.

“As a result of this implementation, Zurich will benefit from an entirely new funds management platform which enables better access to data and reporting formats in a familiar and easy to use graphical environment. We are really proud that it is an Australian client of DST International that has the foresight to appreciate the competitive advantages that early adoption brings with it,” commented Ian Mathieson, Managing Director, DST International.

Mathieson further continued, “Zurich is also an integral member of the DSTi Australian User Group and as such has been very close to the progress of the locally developed platform. As a result of its involvement in this committed group of financial service institutions, it has clearly understood the timeframes for delivery and felt comfortable being the world’s first adopter of our flagship funds management solution.”

“We expect to continue to announce the rollout of HiPortfolio/3 licences around the world in the coming weeks and months as existing clients who are committed to the licencing of HiPortfolio/3 complete the various stages of implementation currently underway and go live with our new platform,” concluded Mathieson.
