NetScreen Signs ALSTOM Australia as Distributor
NetScreen Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: NSCN) today announced it has signed ALSTOM Information Technology, the IT division of ALSTOM Australia Limited, to distribute and provide first-line support for NetScreen’s full range of award-winning network security appliances and systems.
Under the terms of the agreement, ALSTOM, a leading distributor of information technology solutions and highly valued partner within the Australian IT Channel, adds NetScreen’s integrated firewall and virtual private network (VPN) platforms, intrusion detection and prevention systems and security management offerings to its security offerings portfolio for resellers and systems integrators.
Additionally, ALSTOM will make its extensive support services available to resellers and systems integrators of NetScreen products, thereby extending the scope of NetScreen’s channel presence in Australia.
“NetScreen’s products complement our existing suite of world-class security offerings and help meet the needs of customers who want an out-of-the-box, integrated security solution,” said Greg Newham, General Manager for ALSTOM Information Technology.
“ALSTOM has a national team of account managers and sales support staff that have many years of experience selling and marketing security products. We are confident that this experience, along with a wide range of incentives – like on-going sales and technical training and marketing and pre-sales support – can help resellers grow their business with NetScreen.”
“NetScreen has established a strong foothold in the high-end, telco/carrier market segment and taken a leading market position in Asia for high-end security systems,” said Hansen Chang, vice president of Asia Pacific sales at NetScreen. “We are confident that through ALSTOM’s strong reseller network, NetScreen will be able to extend its current success to the enterprise segment in Australia.”
