This year's Tech23 award winners took home $150,000 in prizes
The Tech23 innovations awards have celebrated their third year, with the event providing much-needed funding to local startups.
The prize money was sponsored by the New South Wales government, with deputy NSW premier Andrew Stoner also announcing [[artnid:398105|a donation to a not-for-profit collaborative workspace]] at the opening of the awards.
Helping those in show business trade props, [[xref:http://www.stagebitz.com|StageBitz]] was awarded $25,000 in the Greatest Potential Award category, with company chief executive, Catherine Prosser, [[artnid:398108|saying that Cloud computing is an essential part to her business.
The other award categories were the Broadband Innovation Award, Outstanding Collaboration, the Catalyst Award and the Greatest Potential Award.
A $50,000 Innovation Excellence Award was won by [[xref:http://www.gocatchapp.com|GoCatch]] -- developers of a smartphone application to connect taxis with passengers.
